How can AR and VR be used to design the learning worlds of the future?
In the workshop on the ARVR.nrw project on the topic of "Open authoring tools for collaborative virtual learning environments", the consortium around Dr Jens Maiero (H-BRS) was able to impressively demonstrate in the showroom of the Institute for Visual Computing (IVC) at the Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS) how AR/VR can be integrated into learning environments in the future.

Ticket to space - 1st place for Krautsat in the preliminary competition in the international Hack-a-Sat-4
At the international Hack-a-Sat 4 (HAS4), Team Krautsat, which also includes hackers from the RedRocket team founded in the H-BRS, won the ticket for a place in space. With a sensational 1st place, they qualified in the competition hosted by the US Air Force and won $10,000.

Where is up and where is down?
In a current study, a research team is trying to find out how different strengths of gravitational stimuli affect the perception of "upright" and "vertical" depending on sex and thus an improved understanding of orientation perception in humans. The scientists conducted experiments on this at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) in Cologne.

From the Remote Lab to the new E-race car - Formula Student presents itself at Yarmouk University (Jordan)
As an expert in transfer projects with Jordanian universities, Prof. Rainer Herpers, from the Department of Computer Science at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS), has been able to win over colleagues from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Technical Journalism (EMT) for the DAAD project "YURL - Remote Lab at Yarmouk University" in 2021, in order to set up the technical equipment there for teaching within the framework of Remote Labs, and above all to convey the technical and didactic know-how of the EMT colleagues to the Jordanian project partners.

VDI-Award Ceremony: First place for Jannik Brockerhoff
On 19.01.2022, Jannik Brockerhoff, research assistant in the "Games Technology Network (GTN)" project at the H-BRS, will be awarded 1st prize at the VDI sponsorship award ceremony for his Bachelor's thesis on "Enhancing immersion in virtual reality by developing an inertial feedback system".
