Cafeteria on Rheinbach Campus reopened
On Monday, January 29, 2024, the cafeteria in the C-building on the Rheinbach campus will reopen. This means that there will once again be a stationary food service on campus. Students and employees of the university have been able to use the foyer in the C building to eat, work and linger since January 8. Almost 80 seats are available here.

The Studierendenwerk, which runs the "cafe campus", will initially start with a limited range, as it is not yet possible to prepare food on site. In addition to coffee specialties, there will be a variety of sandwiches, sweets and snacks. The cafeteria at Von-Liebig-Straße 20 is open Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 1 pm.
Due to the corona pandemic and the severe damage caused by the flood disaster in 2021, there was no stationary food offer at the Rheinbach campus for a long time. The reopening of the cafeteria brings another piece of normality back to the campus.
Sanierung: Das sind die nächsten Schritte
Die Arbeiten und Planungen zur Instandsetzung der übrigen Gebäude am Campus Rheinbach laufen auf Hochtouren. Das G-Gebäude soll nach Mitteilung des Dezernats Facility Management Bauen und Sicherheit Mitte 2024 wieder vollständig in Betrieb sein. Im B-Gebäude sollen Büros und Seminarräume im Juli 2024 wieder zur Verfügung stehen. Im A-Gebäude werden Labore und vier Seminarräume bereits wieder provisorisch genutzt. Die Planung für den Gesamtwiederaufbau von Laboren und Hörsälen hat begonnen, sie liegt in den Händen des Generalplaners. Solch eine Gesamtplanung ist auch für das C-Gebäude erforderlich, auch wenn Bibliothek und Cafeteria bereits freigegeben sind. Deshalb ist mit der Wiedereröffnung der dortigen Mensaküche und der Hörsäle erst nach Abschluss aller Instandsetzungsarbeiten im C-Gebäude zu rechnen.
