Elective Courses of the Language Centre

The courses are classified according to the different levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Students who wish to attend a language course on A1 level (a course for beginners) are expected to have a reasonable command of the German language in order to be able to follow the course (for example instructions, grammar explanations et cetera).

Whether you are taking a compulsory or elective language course, its accreditation is regulated in the examination regulations (Prüfungsordnung) of each degree programme.

The intensive English course will refresh your knowledge of the English language, teaching not only grammar basics and vocabulary but also perfecting your skills in listening, reading, speaking and writing.

The language courses are free for students who are enrolled at the Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. Employees of the Hochschule may take a language course under certain conditions. Please refer to our FAQs for further information.
