Workshop series "KI-Wrap" - AI as a tool in research

As part of the "AI Wrap" series, there will be regular short workshops on the use of artificial intelligence in research from February 2025. The target group are scientists, doctoral candidates and students at the university and associated facilities who are interested in the possibilities of using AI solutions in their research work.

The workshops will be held by researchers from the university who are already experienced in the systematic use of AI applications as part of their research work.

The events will take place on a monthly basis from mid-February in person at the library in Sankt Augustin, although colleagues from Rheinbach will have the opportunity to take part in the workshops online.

At the four dates planned so far, AI solutions on the following topics will be presented in short presentations (15 minutes) and then openly discussed:

Research
Data analysis
Use of language models
Writing research proposals and publications
Evaluation of scientific papers

In order to give as many interested scientists and students as possible the opportunity to get an "AI wrap" between courses during the current semester, the workshops will take place at lunchtime, between 12:00-12:30. A small catering service will also be offered to bridge the time until the dining hall visit if necessary.
