Open Access Publishing
Two strategies
Basically, there are two different Open Access strategies.
Golden Way: The article is freely accessible on the Internet immediately after publication. Publication fees may apply for the publication of an article.
Green Way: The possibility of making an previously published article freely available on an Internet platform, also called self-archiving.
Self-archiving
Self-archiving is a very good way to make the publication even more visible on the net. You can use our publication server for this purpose. Legal questions may arise in connection with self-archiving, e.g. if you have transferred your exploitation rights to a publisher. Under what conditions may you publish your paper? The answer is (unfortunately) quite different and not always easy to answer. The library is here to help and advise you.
Creative Commons
Open Access publishers often require the use of Creative Commons licenses in Gold Open Access journals. We will help you if you have any questions.
Institutional Memberships
We continuously monitor the current developments on the scientific publication market. For example, we conclude institutional memberships with renowned Open Access publishers. This allows us to further reduce possible publication fees (Gold Open Access).
Predatory publishers
Another topic to which we dedicate ourselves is the phenomenon area "Predatory Publishers". Unfortunately, black sheep use the Open Access movement to pull money out of researchers' pockets with dubious journals.
Publication of research data
The term Open Access is generally associated with classical text publications. At this point, reference is also made to the publication of research data. Increasingly, research funding agencies require the publication of research data (if possible!). We have compiled further information here.
