The 2019 Scholarship Celebration at H-BRS

In a festive setting on December 4, 2019, the outstanding achievements of the Deutschlandstipendiaten and scholarship holders at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences were honored for the tenth time.

At the casual get-together at the beginning of the event, sponsors, scholarship holders and scholarship recipients had the opportunity to get to know each other over a glass of sparkling wine. Afterwards, President Hartmut Ihne opened the festive program for the ceremonial presentation of the scholarship certificates in the Audimax of the Bonn-Rein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. This year, the faculty of applied natural sciences was presented. Among others, Stephanie Schmitz, Head of Human Resources at Siegwerk Druckfarben AG, was interviewed. A very special highlight of the evening was the musical supporting program. The band Plattentektonik created a very special atmosphere with atmospheric German-language songs.

In the 2019/2020 funding period, 107 students at the university will be supported with €300 per month, of which 100 will be supported by the German Scholarship, four students by the DAAD and three students by the university's own study foundation. Thanks to the monthly scholarship support for one year, the scholarship holders can focus on their studies or get involved in social activities.

A total of 31 private sponsors are involved in the Education Fund this year, and quite a few of them have been with the program since the very beginning. Among the two "newcomers" who have decided to support students for the first time, the NRW Sports Foundation is underwriting one scholarship. Special thanks go to our premium sponsors who take on eight or more scholarships, these are the Ließem Foundation with 19 scholarships, Postbank with 12 scholarships, SER Solutions Deutschland GmbH based at Bonner Bogen with ten scholarships and the Hans Hermann Voss Foundation based in Wipperfürth with ten scholarships.
