Working with a mentor can be a game changer if you want to start your own business. But mentoring can also help you extremely in other areas of life.

While working for a large corporation, Desiree realised how underrepresented women were in key decision-making processes. Today, she is an advocate for female empowerment and has founded her own social business: WoMentor is a mentoring platform with the goal to strengthen the visibility and participation of women in the professional world.

She will tell us about her start-up process, give us some insights on successful mentoring and how you can use mentoring in your start-up process.

About Désirée:

Désirée Jonek is the CEO and founder of WoMentor, a mentoring platform with the goal to strengthen the visibility and participation of women in the professional world, and has built a community of +900 members since 2019. She started her international career in 2010 in the digital media industry as well as management consulting. Her roles included management at Norway's Schibsted Media Group, where she helped develop product strategies and innovative startups for leading online marketplaces, such as Willhaben and Leboncoin in France. Today, in her role as CEO and consultant, she delivers keynotes and advises organizations to achieve fair participation. Since 2021, she passes on her knowledge on the topic of business startups to selected impact founders at the 'WoMentor Founders Group', funded by the Vienna Business Agency.
