Auftaktveranstaltung Mentoring im Projekt PeP@H-BRS

Teach. Research. Co-create. The HAW professorship career path at H-BRS

Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg would like to attract motivated, committed and well-trained people to the HAW professorship career path. The PeP@H-BRS project was launched to make this career path more visible and emphasise its potential.

Career path: Professorship at the H-BRS

Can you imagine passing on your expertise to students, mentoring young people and training the next generation of professionals, whilst also conducting practice-oriented research? Do you work in academia or industry and wonder whether a professorship at a university of applied sciences might be right for you?
If so, we warmly invite you to our information session on professorship at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. At the event, you can expect:

- Personal insights from two professors who will talk about their individual paths to a professorship at the university and provide an authentic glimpse into their day-to-day work

- Information on the formal requirements and the appointment procedure

- Time for your questions and to chat with professors and university representatives

Curious? You’ll find the registration link here in the next few days. We look forward to seeing you there!

The PeP@H-BRS project

PeP@H-BRS Team

The PeP@H-BRS project ("Future-oriented personnel recruitment and development for professorial staff at H-BRS") supports Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in breaking new ground in the recruitment, promotion and long-term retention of professors.

This currently includes the development of an employer brand that makes visible what constitutes an academic working environment: quality in teaching and research, openness, equality, diversity and collegial cooperation. With programmes such as the priority professorships and postdoc tandems, the project specifically supports individual academics. Raising awareness on the topics of gender and diversity is also one of the project's focal points.

President Marion Halfmann is in charge of the PeP@H-BRS project. In close cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Office, the Human Resources Department and the Communications and Marketing Unit, a long-term concept is being developed to strengthen H-BRS as an attractive and future-oriented employer.

PeP@H-BRS is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia (MKW NRW) as part of the federal-state programme "FH-Personal".

The professorships and postdoc tandems

Tandem-Postdocs und Schwerpunktprofessoren_Schulz

The PeP@H-BRS project has established professorships and postdoc tandems at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg.

The professorships were set up to create targeted space for research in socially relevant subject areas. They help to address current scientific issues with practical relevance and incorporate these into teaching and transfer. The reduced teaching commitments allow professors to deepen their own research projects and expand collaborations within and outside the university. All professorships are located in the field of sustainability, which strengthens the university's research profile in the long term.

The Postdoc Tandem Programme prepares early career researchers specifically for an HAW professorship. Participants combine two positions: an academic position at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg and a simultaneous position at a cooperating practice partner. Through this close integration, the postdoc tandems acquire and deepen their teaching experience, research skills and the practical professional experience required for a HAW professorship.

All tandem positions in the current funding phase have already been filled
