Date

Friday, 19 June 2026

to Saturday, 20 June 2026

Location

Room G104, Sankt Augustin, and online

As part of the ProGlobe Project and the Erasmus+ funded BAIN project, Master’s students from Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS), Germany, the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana, and Moi University (MOI), Kenya, will take part in the international virtual exchange and hybrid student conference “AI and Communication in the Workforce.”

The conference will be held on 19 and 20 June in a hybrid format, online and on campus in Room G104, Sankt Augustin. It brings together students, lecturers, and guest speakers from Germany, Ghana, and Kenya to discuss current developments in artificial intelligence, business communication, and the changing world of work.

In preparation for the conference, students from the three partner universities met online over two weeks in May. They exchanged their professional profiles and presented their academic backgrounds, current work experience, and future goals. Many students explained their responsibilities in companies where they currently work as student employees or full-time professionals. Students from H-BRS are enrolled in the Master’s programme Management Accounting and Management Control and hope to expand their professional skill set through the international exchange.

The meetings became a truly intercultural learning experience. Students shared very different educational, cultural, and personal journeys. One presenter from Kenya is completing his Master’s degree and intends to pursue a PhD. He shared an image of his nomadic family home and spoke about coming from a background where many family members had limited opportunities to attend school regularly or visit a university. One H-BRS student shared how he came to Germany as a refugee from Afghanistan and is now continuing his academic and professional development.

At the student conference, H-BRS students will present current developments in AI in business to their international peers from Ghana and Kenya. The conference will provide a platform for students to exchange ideas, compare international perspectives, and reflect on how artificial intelligence is changing communication, business practice, and professional roles.

Guest Speakers:
Prof. Dr. Gloria Agaypong, University of Cape Coast, Ghana
Dr. Zurah Mohammed, Moi University, Kenya
Participating countries: Germany, Ghana, and Kenya
