Eva Besgen: Botschafterin des Lebenslangen Lernens
Eva Besgens Karriere an der Hochschule ist eng mit der Entwicklung des E-Learning-Projekts verknüpft, das sie seit seinem Start im Jahr 2010 mitentwickelt hat. Mittlerweile ist sie eine von drei Koordinatorinnen des E-Learning-Teams und verantwortlich für die Betreuung der Fachbereiche. Ihren Auftrag sieht sie darin, Lehrende fit für die digitale Lehre zu machen. Dazu entwickelt und koordiniert sie Schulungen und Weiterbildungsangebote. Was man durch stetiges Lernen erreichen kann, dafür ist sie selbst das beste Beispiel.

Vortragsreihe Technik und Umweltethik von April bis Juni 2023
Die Ringvorlesung Technik- und Umweltethik steht im Sommersemester 2023 im Zeichen der Transformation des Energiesystems, einem Thema, zu dem auch die H-BRS intensiv forscht. Ab dem 6. April berichten Expertinnen und Experten aus Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft an neun Terminen über die Potentiale innovativer Technologien für das Erreichen der Klimaziele und einer resilienten Energieversorgung. Die Veranstaltungen finden jeweils donnerstags von 18.15 bis 19.45 Uhr am Campus Sankt Augustin (HS 7) statt. Eine Anmeldung ist nicht erforderlich. Interessierte Bürgerinnen und Bürger sind herzlich eingeladen.

Congratulations Dr.-Ing. Alexander Marquardt!
Alexander Marquardt, a research assistant in the Department of Computer Science and the Institute for Visual Computing (IVC) at H-BRS, successfully defended his doctoral thesis on Multisensory Guidance Under Sensory Constraints in Augmented Reality at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland on 24.03.2023.

The Diversity Management of the H-BRS has published the toolbox "Inclusive action in teaching and collaboration" via LEA. The toolbox offers various information and tips to break down barriers, promote inclusion competence and ensure equal opportunities regardless of physical or mental conditions.

EnerSHelF closing event in Ghana and first publications
The EnerSHelF project ends after four years of cutting-edge interdisciplinary research on improving and disseminating marketable PV-based energy solutions for health facilities in Ghana. In the first week of March 2023, the project team met in Ghana for the closing workshop and visited the field sites. The closing event was successful in disseminating the research results to relevant stakeholders.

Hochschulnetzwerke mit H-BRS-Beteiligung erhalten Förderung
Das Netzwerk Evaluation an Hochschulen für angewandte Wissenschaften (HAW) in NRW sowie der Verein LehreN-Netzwerk e.V. haben eine Förderzusage der Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre (StIL) erhalten. In den nächsten drei Jahren erhält das Evaluationsnetzwerk insgesamt knapp 260.000 Euro, das Netzwerk Lehre^N 400.000 Euro.

Die Initiative Nachrichtenaufklärung (INA) stellt jährlich gemeinsam mit der Deutschlandfunk-Nachrichtenredaktion eine Liste mit den Top 10 der vergessenen Nachrichten zusammen. Studierende der Hochschule haben mitrecherchiert.
