Applying for admission

University admission via entrance examination

Professionally qualified persons who wish to study a degree programme in a different subject area or who have professional experience in a different subject area to their training occupation can only gain admission to a degree programme by successfully passing an entrance examination.
Requirements for admission to the entrance examination are:
  1. Completion of at least two years of vocational training in accordance with the Vocational Training Act or Crafts Code or other vocational training regulated by federal or state law and
  2. at least three years of full-time professional activity thereafter, including in a profession not corresponding to the training

For scholarship holders of the federal government's advancement scholarship programme, two years are sufficient.
The main responsible and independent management of a family household and the upbringing of a minor child within the meaning of Section 25 (5) of the Federal Training Assistance Act or the care of a relative within the meaning of Section 16 (5) of the Tenth Book of the Social Code are deemed equivalent to professional activity.
At least half-time part-time employment  is to be counted proportionately as professional activity. The entrance examination serves to determine the subject-related and methodological requirements for studying at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg for professionally qualified applicants. The content of the exam is general and subject-related knowledge.
Passing the entrance exam entitles you to enrol in the first programme semester of the respective degree programme at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. The admission regulations remain unaffected by this.
