Before the year ends, we would like to present some information for alumni. We hope you will continue to stay in touch with our university in 2016! Perhaps you will find your way back to your old campus. If you decide to visit us, please let us know in good time - we look forward to seeing you again!
The difficulties of many refugees who reach our country also concern our university - you can read about them in this newsletter. "Travelling" and “Fleeing from Injustice" are topics which play an important part, not least during the Christian season of Advent and Christmas. The Christmas story by Amelie Fried "Krieg und Frieden" (maybe you like to practice again reading German...) shows how hospitality and making people welcome can work - and how it can enrich us all.
We wish you a happy festive season, good health and success in the New Year!

„A life changing experience“ - looking back on the alumni-conference with international graduates | At the end of September 24 alumni returned from 18 countries to the university to attend a conference on “Inter-cultural Challenges in Project-management“. The experience they shared of studying in Germany at the H-BRS was a good common basis for exchanges between people from all over the world: it brought together a robotics entrepreneur from India with a manager with experience in China, an African media expert with an IT doctoral candidate from Canada, a CSR specialist from Mexico with a biologist from China. Refugees initiative at the H-BRS | Our region has also become a new home for a very large number of refugees, many of whom will probably stay with us in the long term. The university has found its own appropriate response to the social challenges arising from the situation: offering education! Read more ...
Looking forward: Alumni-day 2016 | For next summer we are planning to hold a bigger alumni reunion again. The Alumni-day 2016 intends to offer specialist contributions, work-shops on career topics and a lot of time to meet up with old acquaintances from university times and also get to know other alumni. All alumni are invited, but particularly graduates from 2006 for a 10-year reunion. If you have ideas you would like to contribute to the topics and organization of this day, we would be glad to receive an e-mail from you at email@example.com.
Merrily throwing hats in the air at the graduation ceremony 2015 | Once again more than 1,000 students graduated successfully in their studies in the year 2014/2015. About 350 of them came to the Telekom-Forum on 23rd October with friends and relatives, to festively review the end of this important period of their lives - and to celebrate it, too. In total there were about 1,200 guests. Read more (sorry, in German only) and see the picture gallery.
