Future-Skills-Wahlkatalog geht in die nächste Runde
Zum Wintersemester 2026/27 wird der hochschulweite Future-Skills-Wahlkatalog der H-BRS fortgeführt und deutlich erweitert. Studierende der Bachelorstudiengänge können erneut studiengangsübergreifend Lehrveranstaltungen mit ausgewiesenem Future-Skills-Bezug belegen.

ICT Summer School 2026 in Helsinki: International teaching meets digital practice
Together with 17 students from the H-BRS, André Kless, a research assistant in the Department of Computer Science, took part in the ICT Summer School at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, Finland, in August 2026. With his course ‘From Web Basics to Digital Makerspaces: Building Personal Web Applications’, he contributed a practice-oriented and forward-looking teaching programme to the international programme. In addition to the H-BRS students, international students also took part in the course.

H-BRS presents EU-FarmBook to an international Audience of experts
H-BRS continues to promote knowledge transfer between research and agricultural practice at the European level: Professor Katharina Seuser and Aysegül Yasari from the Institute for Technology, Resource and Energy-efficient Engineering (TREE) organized the third international press tour as part of the EU-FarmBook project. This time, the trip took them to Brittany, where the project was presented to about 30 representatives from academia and the trade media at the Institut Agro Rennes-Angers.

The registration period for Language Centre courses in the winter semester 2026/27 will begin on Monday, 24 August 2026, at 12 noon. The registration period will run until Sunday, 13 September 2026.

Books for Friends – Ukrainian partner university welcomes books from donation project
Eight parcels containing up-to-date literature for research and teaching have arrived at the library of our partner university, Chernihiv Polytechnical National University (CPNU) in Ukraine. The funds for the 80 books came from the “Books for Friends” fundraising campaign. Staff, partner companies, alumni of the university and guests at the 2025 graduation ceremony had donated over 6,000 euros for this cause by January 2026.

FrOSCon 2026: Over 2,000 visitors at the open-source conference
On 15 and 16 August 2026, FrOSCon once again attracted large numbers of people from the open-source community to the H-BRS campus. With over 2,000 visitors, 70 exhibitors and 83 speakers, the conference proved to be a successful event despite the high summer temperatures.

"Lea in the cold blue" - Absolventin Lea Buse in der Antarktis
Europa ächzt in diesem Sommer 2026 unter der Hitze und der Sonne. H-BRS-Alumna Lea Buse erlebte in diesen Monaten das genaue Gegenteil: Rund zwei Monate ohne jegliche Sonne und Temperaturen bis zu minus 41 Grad. Die Absolventin der Elektrotechnik ist für 14 Monate Teil der Überwinterungscrew der Neumayer-Station, einer wichtigen deutschen Forschungsstation in der Antarktis. Gemeinsam mit den anderen Crewmitgliedern hält Lea die Station im antarktischen Winter am Laufen.
