Programme content and qualification objective
Course structure
The standard duration of the Bachelor's programme is six semesters. In the first half of the programme, students learn analytical, formal-abstract and algorithmic thinking as well as the fundamentals of computer science, business administration and data processing.
In the second half, students deepen their knowledge in areas such as data analysis, IT management, software development and the digitalisation of business processes.
Exams take place at the end of the semester, after the courses have been completed and before the new semester begins.
Prospects and job opportunities
Graduates of the Bachelor's programme in Business Information Systems (B.Sc.) are sought-after specialists at the interface between IT and business. They work in industry, services and administration, for example in the analysis, development and support of information systems, in project management or in IT consulting. The combination of technical and business management expertise opens up excellent career opportunities.
Practical relevance and teaching formats
The bachelor's programme includes a 10- to 12-week practical project. The practical project usually begins immediately after the lecture period of the fifth semester. This gives you the opportunity to put the knowledge and skills you have acquired during your studies to the test in the professional world. You will find a company, research institution or public authority yourself that is related to your desired topic. This often leads to valuable contacts for your bachelor's thesis or your career start after graduation.
