Admission requirements for the master's degree programme Biomedical Sciences

Entry Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Biological Sciences, grade at least "good" (2.5)
• Special knowledge in: Molecular Biology/Genetics, Immunology, Developmental Biology, Human Biology and Physiology to the extend of at least 6 ECTS each.
• Proficiency in English: If the applicant is neither a native speaker nor has completed a previous degree programme in English, s/he needs to provide proof of English proficiency, with a minimum level of B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) certified by one of the following tests TOEFL iBT, IELTS, Cambridge B2 or others. The original TOEFL score report has to be sent by ETS. Our institution code is 7977.
• Each application will be examined by the Admission Commitee.

Application

Prospective students will have to apply through our online application portal. You are going to find the link to the online application portal at the bottom of this page. The application deadline for international applicants who need a visa is March 1^st each year and for applicants who do not need a visa or already have one is September 15^th each year. Please keep in mind that applications received after the deadline cannot be considered.

Before you start entering your data in the online application form, please make sure you have all documents required for application ready:

• Original certificate of your first academic degree including transcripts and translation of both documents into either German or English (if they have been issued in a language other than English or German).
• Certificate of APS (for applicants from China, India and Vietnam who completed their first degree there).
• For international applicants: Proficiency in English on the minimum level of B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) certified by one of the following tests TOEFL iBT, IELTS Academic, Cambridge B2 or others. If the applicant has completed a previous university degree programme in English, s/he needs to provide confirmation letter from the university only. 

After the application deadline has expired the admission committee will decide on the award of places. You will be informed of the Admissions Committee's decision in due course in your application account on our application portal. 

In case of admission international applicants from countries which do not belong to EU/EEA must send their complete application documents to the university by post. Please note that all copies of documents you submit must be officially certified for authenticity with the originals. In case your documents have not been issued in either German or English, you will need to additionally submit officially certified translations into either English or German. Only after the verification of the original application documents will we be able make an offer of admission to applicants form non EU/EEA countries. 

Applicants from Germany and other EU/EEA countries do not need to send paper documents by post.
