In this degree programme, you will be systematically introduced to analytical and algorithmic thinking and deepen your knowledge. The focus is on scientific work, programming, system development, networked computer systems with an emphasis on information security, a future-oriented, highly sought-after field. In our degree programme, theory and practice are closely intertwined. You will apply what you learn at the university directly in the workplace, gaining valuable practical experience. Thanks to close cooperation between the university and its industry partners, the programme is carried out jointly, allowing you to learn in a practical setting from the very beginning and prepare yourself optimally for your professional future. The module overview provides an overview of the modules and subjects covered in each semester. The language of instruction is German, but English language skills are required.

Course of study

In the first half of the programme, you will acquire methodological foundations, mathematical knowledge and basic technical knowledge. The focus is on analytical and algorithmic thinking, programming, systematic working methods and scientific work.
As you progress, you will deepen your specialist knowledge in core areas such as software engineering and networks, and complete compulsory and elective subjects specialising in information security. The programme is run in cooperation with partner companies, which means that practical projects and applications are integrated.

Prospects and job opportunities

Our cooperative computer science programme combines sound academic training with practical experience in partner companies. Students acquire future-oriented skills, gain professional experience and open up excellent career opportunities in the dynamic IT industry.

Building on the bachelor's degree, the department offers the following master's programmes:

  • Business Informatics, Sustainability and Digitalisation
  • Autonomous Systems
  • Cyber Security & Privacy
  • Game Technologies

The university's start-up factory provides support for founding your own company.

Practical relevance and teaching formats

In the cooperative Bachelor's programme in Computer Science, students usually complete the practical project and their Bachelor's thesis directly as part of the practical training component at their partner company. This allows them to apply and deepen the knowledge they have acquired during their studies in real-life projects. This close integration of theory and practice not only promotes professional competence, but also enables students to establish valuable professional contacts. The exact regulations are set out in the cooperation agreement.

Study location and learning environment
