At Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences over 1,000 people with an international background study, research, teach and work, who come from more than 100 countries and every year many of our students spend time in a foreign country for an internship or a study semester abroad at one of over 80 of our partner universities.
Internationalisation has a place among the strategic objectives of our University, which were defined in the currently valid development plan 2016-2020. Also in the subsequent Hochschule development plan for the period 2021-2025 internationalisation will be one of the most important dimensions we aim for:
In the framework of the Erasmus+ program 2014-2020 our University set out its goals and measures in a “European Policy Statement“ in the area of European, or rather international cooperation.
The regionally embedded roots of our University and its international orientation are two complementary aspects, which are bound together in the concept of „regional Internationality“.
The international activities of our University are coordinated by the International Office. The Commission for International Affairs chaired by the Vice President for International Affairs and Diversity advises the President’s Office on international matters.
