Transfer Impulses @ H-BRS | 2026 | Visual Computing, AI & Robotics
We invite you to a joint event hosted by the Institute for Visual Computing (IVC) and the Institute for AI and Autonomous Systems (A2S) at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences on 5 March 2026. Both institutes are part of the Department of Computer Science, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The event will focus on demonstrations from ongoing and completed projects in artificial intelligence, robotics, and visualization, as well as discussions on practical questions and opportunities for collaboration. We will also provide information on funding opportunities for application-oriented research and transfer projects.

Programme overview

  • Live demos and short project inputs from the IVC and A2S institutes on Visual Computing, AR/VR, Computer Vision, AI, robotics, and autonomous systems.
  • Lab and showroom stations including the Showroom “AI & Visualization”, the Visual Computing Lab, the Game Studio, and the Robotics Lab. Experience our research and infrastructure hands on.
  • Company pitches and challenge slots: In up to five minutes, present what you are already working on or pitch a challenge you are looking to solve. Cooperation and project ideas are welcome.
  • Collaboration and funding instead of a classic meetup. Together with the ZWT, the Centre for Science and Technology Transfer, we will outline concrete ways to collaborate and provide a compact overview of funding opportunities and support offers for application oriented research.

Bring your challenge with you, and we will discuss the solutions directly on site.

Are you working on a specific topic or facing a technical challenge? Use a pitch slot to present your topic in a maximum of five minutes. Pitches are deliberately kept short to give as many participants as possible the opportunity to present their topics. Challenges in which you are looking for cooperation or project ideas are particularly welcome. The subsequent discussions and networking offer space to go into more detail and plan the first steps towards collaboration. Please register early. If you would like to use a pitch slot, please indicate this when registering. The number of participants is limited.
