Programme content and qualification objective
Course of study
In the first two semesters, students learn the basics of (business) psychology, economics and methodology. After consolidating the basics, they can choose a specialisation from the fields of financial and market psychology or personnel and organisational psychology in the fourth semester. In the 5th semester, they choose an economics specialisation (e.g. marketing or human resources) and the 6th semester is an internship semester. A semester abroad is possible during the 5th, 6th and 7th semesters. The Bachelor's thesis in the 7th semester rounds off the programme.
Prospects and job opportunities
Our academically sound and practice-orientated education opens up a wide range of career opportunities for graduates in specialist and management careers in the private sector, public administration or in self-employment. Typical professional fields for business psychologists include personnel selection and development, marketing or market research and management consulting. The university offers a Master's degree programme in Business Psychology (MSc), which builds on the Bachelor's degree programme.
Practical relevance and teaching formats
The Bachelor's degree programme is characterised above all by its high level of practical relevance and the excellent support provided by the lecturers. Students learn to work independently on scientific issues in small group courses. Through our focus on sound psychological principles and methods, specialised business psychology knowledge and an understanding of economic goals, processes and actions, we prepare them for exciting fields of work.
Locations and learning environment
The Business Psychology degree programme is offered at the Rheinbach campus. Students can expect a lively campus life with excellent learning opportunities and a strong community. At the start of their studies, students are warmly welcomed at orientation and welcome events and can take part in a first semester trip. The student council organises numerous barbecue events and Christmas parties – perfect opportunities to experience the campus spirit and get to know other students. Accommodation is available in student halls of residence in Rheinbach or Bonn, for example.
„What I particularly appreciate about my degree programme is that it enables me to apply psychological findings directly to business contexts. The fact that all the professors come from industries related to business psychology means that the programme offers a lot of practical relevance.”
Jacqueline Chassein - Business Psychology student
