What are the Future Skills training courses?
The Future Skills training courses promote skills that are important for your studies, your career and your private life. In our training sessions, you will learn how to improve these skills in an interactive and exciting environment. You will receive practical tips for your everyday life together with other students. The training sessions are run by other students who have completed specialised training.
Digital Balance
Successfully mastering digital challenges
How do I find the right way to deal with the digital world? Here you will discover the art of digital detox and gain insights into the impact of AI on your everyday life as a student.
Contents of the training
Awareness of the risks of digital technologies (including Fear Of Missing Out, constant accessibility).
Try a digital detox: Give up digital devices for a while.
Strategies to protect your health in a digital world.

Manage everyday (study) life in an empowered and motivated way
How can I set effective goals, tackle challenges with confidence and manage my tasks successfully? Here you will learn effective strategies to make the best use of your time and energy.

Identify your own challenges & overcome personal obstacles.
Planning ahead: Organise your (study) life effectively and proactively.

Resilience
How do I deal with challenges in a more relaxed way and clear out my head from studying?
Here you will learn effective strategies to manage and recover from the stress and strains of everyday study life.
Contents of the training
Identify stress: Recognise signs that indicate too much stress.
Manage stress: Learn effective strategies to reduce stress.
Resilience as a "superpower": Build your mental strength & Resilience.
Mindfulness: Find more calmness in everyday (study) life through relaxation exercises & mindfulness techniques.
Emotional strength
How can I better understand my emotions, manage them in a targeted way and get through everyday study life more calmly?
Here you will learn effective strategies to promote your emotional strength and positively shape your everyday study life.
Contents of the training:
- Understanding emotions: Recognise what triggers your emotions and learn to be aware of them
- Manage your emotions: Discover strategies to deal with frustration, stress and nervousness.
- Communicate empathetically: Develop your ability to listen empathetically and communicate clearly
- Practical exercises: Experience how you can build your emotional strength through interactive and creative methods.
Who can take part in the training sessions
The training sessions are free of charge for all H-BRS students. Both Bachelor's and Master's students from all departments can benefit from the four topics of digital balance, self-management, resilience and emotional strength.
How do I register and when do the training courses take place?
Visit our LEA course and register for our open training courses. You can also find the current dates and availability there. The training courses take place in person on the university's premises.

What is expected of me as a participant?
- Active participation in the workshop
- Registrations should be kept to avoid empty workshops
- An early cancellation if you cannot attend the training to enable other students to participate
Who are the trainers?
The trainers are also H-BRS students who are trained by our SKILLS team. The peer-to-peer format creates a relaxed training atmosphere in which problems can be addressed openly and discussed in the group.
