Successful days at the EAIE conference in Gothenburg
Representatives from the International Office, the departments and the Centre for Science and Technology Transfer (ZWT) attended this year's conference of the European Association for International Education (EAIE) under the leadership of Vice-President International Affairs and Digitalisation Teena Hassan.

After studying in Graz and Bonn, he completed his doctorate at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) and worked at the International Centre for Sustainable Development (IZNE), then became a founding member and Impact and Science Lead at the now very successful company InPlanet and has now returned to the H-BRS as a visiting scientist: Philipp Swoboda.

In his dissertation, Thomas Neifer has developed a framework that shows how data-driven business models and services are created that combine corporate goals, technological possibilities and the needs of users. Using practical methods such as the data science canvas and data storytelling, he provides companies with tools for successfully planning data strategies - and communicating them in an understandable way.

In Paris für Cybersicherheit und gegen Fake News
Gleich mit zwei Vorträgen war das Forschungsteam um Prof. Dr. Hektor Haarkötter aus dem Fachbereich Sozialpolitik und Soziale Sicherung an die Université Sorbonne nach Paris eingeladen. Bei der 10. International Conference on Communication & Media Studies stellten sie die Ergebnisse der Forschungsprojekte CrossComITS und NEBULA vor.

Der Fachbereich Sozialpolitik und Soziale Sicherung war gleich zweimal mit fachlicher Expertise an der Helmut-Schmidt-Universität vertreten. Der 20. (Aus)Bildungskongress der Bundeswehr fand vom 2. – 4. September 2025 zum Thema „Wahrheit, Fiktion und Lüge – Medienkompetenz und Critical Thinking als gesamtgesellschaftliche Herausforderung“ an der Helmut-Schmidt-Universität/Universität der Bundeswehr Hamburg statt.
