Cool room without air conditioning - app pilot project launched
You can neither work well nor study properly in the summer heat. An idea from Prof. Ingo Groß has now found its way into a room in the Department of Engineering and Communication. This room is now cooled without any air conditioning, creating a pleasant learning environment. With the support of numerous colleagues from Department 1 and ITS, an initial prototype of the "shading and ventilation app" has been implemented.

The Computer Science Student Council has elected a new Student Council (FSR) for the 2025/26 academic year! The student council represents all students of the degree programmes Computer Science (B.Sc./M.Sc.), Business Informatics (B.Sc.), Cyber Security & Privacy (B.Sc./M.Sc.), Autonomous Systems (M.Sc.) and Visual Computing & Games Technology / Game Technologies (M.Sc.).

Delegation trip to Tallinn: Digital transformation in studying and teaching
Under this guiding theme, a joint delegation from Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) and Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) travelled to the Estonian capital Tallinn from 12 to 15 May 2025. The trip which was supported by the Hochschulforum Digitalisierung (HFD) facilitated an intensive exchange with local universities, institutions and companies.

Through the Eyes of a Butterfly: Exploring Biodiversity with Game Technologies
What does the world feel like from the perspective of a butterfly? At the Museumsmeilenfest 2025 at Museum Koenig, students from the Master's degree programme Visual Computing & Games Technology presented an interactive game that combines experiencing nature and digital immersion. In a VR application, visitors were able to immerse themselves in the perspective of an aurora butterfly - with the aim of raising awareness of biodiversity in a new way.
