The Language Centre is currently offering the DSH, a German language proficiency test as well as the English DAAD certificate and English placement tests. For further information on test contents, test dates and registration please refer to the respective menu item below.

DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) - Language Certificate

The DAAD language certificate serves as proof of your language skills and is required for scholarships, studies abroad or internships abroad together with the other application documents.

DSH / TestDaF

The DSH or the TestDaF language certificate shows that your language skills are sufficient to study at a German university and that you are able to understand, reproduce, comment on and analyse academic texts and lectures.

English Placement Test (only available in German)

All Bachelor's degree programmes at H-BRS require the successful completion of one or more language courses. As this is usually an English course, all students must take an English placement test at the beginning of their studies.

English language certificates accepted by H-BRS

Here you will find a list of English language certificates accepted by H-BRS. Each section lists the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level in English required for admission as well as the most common language certificates.

If you need to pass a language proficiency test in order to study at a German university or abroad, please find out in due time which language proficiency test is required. If you have any questions about studying at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, please contact the Student Advice Centre; for further information about studying abroad, please contact the International Office.
