Programme content and qualification objective

On the International Business degree course at H-BRS, students acquire in-depth knowledge in the fields of international business administration, financial markets and global trade and deal with the effects of globalisation. In addition to English, students are required to learn a second foreign language, which strengthens their communication skills: the perfect preparation for working in intercultural teams. Another highlight of the curriculum is Future Skills, which prepares students specifically for the challenges of the global economy - from digital transformation and innovation management to sustainable business practices. Practice-oriented projects, case studies and company collaborations ensure that students can apply theoretical knowledge directly. Exchange programmes with partner universities worldwide enable international experience and the development of a professional network. The degree programme also places great emphasis on soft skills such as presentation techniques, teamwork and analytical thinking - skills that are particularly in demand in global companies. Whether multinational companies, international trade projects or global innovations: The degree programme opens up a wide range of career opportunities in a networked, dynamic environment.

Course structure

Students on the seven-semester Bachelor of International Business (BSc) programme at the Sankt Augustin campus of Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg acquire comprehensive knowledge of business, management and international markets. Five theory semesters, a practical semester or semester abroad and the Bachelor's thesis form the basis. From the 4th semester onwards, students choose specialisations such as International Financial Management, Marketing or Sustainability and hone their intercultural, analytical and entrepreneurial skills for an international career.

Prospects and job opportunities

Graduates of the degree programme work internationally in logistics, human resources, consulting, controlling, management, finance, business informatics and marketing. Specialists in international management are in demand globally - career and salary prospects are correspondingly promising. Building on the Bachelor's degree programme, the university offers further Master's degree programmes in Marketing, Controlling and IT Management.

Practical relevance and teaching formats

The Bachelor's degree programme combines academic theory with practical experience. Lecturers from academia and practice as well as case studies from real companies ensure direct practical relevance. Innovative learning formats such as business simulation games, peer-to-peer learning and flipped classroom formats promote an active and application-orientated learning culture. An integrated internship semester, a focus on intercultural and language skills as well as international study options - including a double degree - provide optimal preparation for a global career.

Study location and learning environment

Studying International Business at H-BRS: at the Sankt Augustin campus, students can expect a modern, international learning environment with innovative technology, practical teaching and a strong sense of community. Welcome events and activities organised by the student council promote exchange between students.
