Writing time 3.0 on the "Magic Mountain"
For the third time, the "Zauberberg" (Magic Mountain) in Gummersbach was transformed into a place of focussed writing, exchange and inspiration. Eleven motivated students spent three intensive days at the Theodor Heuss Academy under the guidance of writing consultants Jill Yates and Katrin Berentzen, working in English or German on their final papers, from bachelor's theses to dissertations.

Die Hochschul- und Kreisbibliothek an der Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg ist eng mit seinem Namen verbunden: Armin Ehrhardt. 1998, kurz nach ihrer Gründung, übernahm der promovierte Physiker ihre Leitung.

Participation in the 2025 CLACSO International Conference in Bogotá
Mariana Ochoa Moreno, research assistant and doctoral candidate at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, presented research findings from the CrossComITS and NEBULA projects at the CLACSO congress 2025 in Bogotá. The projects address issues relating to cybersecurity and disinformation. The focus however, addresses social digital resilience regarding the socially sustainable design of new technologies.

Samer Chaaraoui: Doctoral examination passed with "very good"
On 13 August 2025, Samer Chaaraoui, former employee at the IZNE, passed his doctoral examination at the PK-NRW as the third graduate of the "Sustainability and Resources" department with the grade "very good". The project was supervised by Stefanie Meilinger and co-supervised by Sebastian Houben from the department of informatics and data science and was thus the first PK NRW doctorate carried out in two departments. The title of his dissertation is "Development of a predictive control model for grid-integrated photovoltaic-diesel battery systems in the context of the Ghanaian health sector".
