Markus Winterberg new professor of analytical chemistry
From January 2026, Dr Markus Winterberg will be teaching and researching as a new professor specialising in analytical chemistry and quality control at the Department of Natural Sciences in Rheinbach.

GameJam 2025 with Record Participation
72 hours full of ideas, code and creativity: GameJam 2025 at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences broke all previous participant records. Twelve games were created in the Game Studio and online, showing just how much passion there is in the games community.

Energie für die Zukunft: Alumni-Besuch im Heizkraftwerk
Rund dreißig Alumni und Deutschlandstipendiat:innen waren der Einladung des Alumni-Netzwerks zu einer Führung durch das Heizkraftwerk Nord der Stadtwerke Bonn gefolgt. Ermöglicht hatte die Führung unser Alumnus Andreas Hahn, Revisor bei der SWB.

In dieser Woche fand am Campus Sankt Augustin die Auftaktveranstaltung für das Mentoring im Postdoc-Tandem-Programm des Projekts PeP@H-BRS statt. Mit dem Start des Mentorings geht das Projekt einen weiteren wichtigen Schritt zur Förderung von Postdocs auf dem Karriereweg HAW-Professur.

Successful International Day at the Sankt Augustin campus
On 29 October 2025, Hochschulstraße on the Sankt Augustin campus was transformed into a meeting place for international encounters. The International Office at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences once again hosted International Day this year to provide information about its services and the wide range of opportunities available for semesters and internships abroad.

Successful start to the semester at Cybercampus NRW: record numbers in the Cyber Security & Privacy degree programmes at H-BRS
The success of Cybercampus NRW is particularly evident this year in the strong interest in the Cyber Security & Privacy degree programmes at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS). A total of 163 students have enrolled in the bachelor’s programme for the 2025/2026 winter semester. Expectations have also been significantly exceeded in the master’s programme: 23 students are beginning their studies in Sankt Augustin, which underlines the continuing high attractiveness of the programme.
