Rund 3.500 Besuchende: H-BRS begeistert auf der gamescom 2026
A robotic arm that tests your dexterity in a “hot wire” challenge, artificial intelligence that creates fantasy characters from photos, and games that reimagine learning: At gamescom 2026, visitors to the Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg booth could not only see the technology but also try it out for themselves. Around 3.500 people took the opportunity to learn about the H-BRS projects - including several well-known streamers. One of them even controlled the robotic arm through the “hot wire” challenge live on stream in front of 4.000 followers.

EU FarmBook at the NRW Agricultural Research Day 2026
The EU-FarmBook project was presented at the 2026 North Rhine-Westphalia Agricultural Research Day in Bonn to an audience of around 300 scientists, agricultural advisers and practitioners. The event, on the theme of ‘The importance of agricultural research for food security and sustainability’, was organised by the Düsseldorf Ministry of Agriculture and Consumer Protection and took place on 3 September in the Lecture Theatre Centre at the University of Bonn.

ICT Summer School 2026 in Helsinki: International teaching meets digital practice
Together with 17 students from the H-BRS, André Kless, a research assistant in the Department of Computer Science, took part in the ICT Summer School at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, Finland, in August 2026. With his course ‘From Web Basics to Digital Makerspaces: Building Personal Web Applications’, he contributed a practice-oriented and forward-looking teaching programme to the international programme. In addition to the H-BRS students, international students also took part in the course.
