Engagement für Bildung für Nachhaltige Entwicklung (BNE) und MINT-Förderung in NRW
Prof. Dr. Wiltrud Terlau aus dem Internationalen Zentrum für Nachhaltige Entwicklung (IZNE) engagiert sich verstärkt für Zukunftsthemen im Bildungswesen: Kürzlich nahm sie an der 1. NRW Zukunftskonferenz der Nachhaltigkeitsinitiative der Universitäten teil, um für mehr „Bildung für Nachhaltige Entwicklung (BNE)“ einzutreten. Zudem wurde sie als Jurymitglied für die NRW zdi-science league 2025/26 eingeladen, die den MINT (Mathematik, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften und Technik)-Nachwuchs fördert.

Marie Bergmann: From First Lego League to professorship
Dr Marie Bergmann was presented with her certificate by President Marion Halfmann on 21 February 2026, which identifies her as Professor of Business Information Systems, in particular sustainability and digitisation.

130 pupils from AEG Grammar School discover the world of computer science at H-BRS
Around 130 Year 8 pupils from Albert Einstein Gymnasium (AEG) visited the Department of Computer Science at H-BRS. The school visit also marks the start of a special anniversary year: this year, the Department of Computer Science is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The anniversary will be marked with various events and activities. The students' visit marks the first item on the programme. The celebrations will continue on 12 June with another event.

Professor Andreas Bunzemeier retires
After 25 years, Andreas Bunzemeier is leaving Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. The Professor of Electrical Engineering will retire at the end of February. He has now been bid farewell by President Marion Halfmann.

EcoTwin-Umfrage: Kommunen bestätigen hohen Bedarf an Digitalisierung von Grünflächen

Closing ceremony for German courses
The intensive German B2.2 and C1 preparatory courses, which began in September 2025, ended in January 2026 with a closing ceremony. These courses were coordinated by the International Office and the Language Centre and funded by the Bridge2Success (DAAD) and NRWege ins Studium (MKW) programmes.

"Caritas opens doors" – last year's Caritas campaign not only adresses those in need for advice and help, it now also held true for our MSc Social Protection students.On 3 February 2026, the Caritas Association in Bonn hosted our current batch as part of their Module 3.3 "Social Services", allowing them to gain practical insights into the organisation’s social service structures and delivery.
