Central Equal Opportunity Commissioner
The central equal opportunity officer works towards the fulfillment of the university's equal opportunity mandate, in particular the inclusion of equal opportunity-relevant aspects in scientific, administrative and technical work, in development planning and in personnel and structural measures. She is an advisory member of all central committees by virtue of her office. Her direct deputies support the central Equal Opportunity Officer in the exercise of her office with a focus on their respective areas of emphasis.

Dr. Barbara Hillen-Haas - Central Equal Opportunity Officer
Tasks of the central equal opportunities officer and focal points of equal opportunities policy at Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences are:
- Advising and supporting the university management in the implementation of the equal opportunities mandate,
- Participation in all central bodies of the university such as the University Council, the Presidential Board, and the Senate,
- Participation in all organizational and structural measures of the university,
- Support and monitoring of all appointment procedures and staffing procedures at the university,
- Participation in all personnel measures of the university such as hiring, dismissals, upgrading, redeployment,
- Participation in the preparation, interim and final evaluation of the university's framework plan and equal opportunity plans,
- Implementation and further development of the office's own measures and programs to support (junior) female scientists, including advice on individual measures
- Planning and implementation of own initiatives and campaigns in the field of gender equality
- Gender consulting - application consulting for third-party funding initiatives, including support in the implementation of measures,
- Advising all members and affiliates of the university on gender equality-specific issues,
- Advice on sexual harassment and discrimination,
- Maintaining cooperation within the university and initiating joint projects with the HELP counseling center, human resources development, graduate institute, AStA, presidential representatives, persons of trust, etc.,
- Coordination of and cooperation with the decentralized equal opportunity officers of the individual departments
- Active participation in relevant networks and associations such as federal and state conferences of equal opportunity officers.
- Chair of the Ombudskommission
- Chair of the Equal Opportunity Commission
- Member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Ethics and Responsibility (ZEV) of the H-BRS

Each department has two equal opportunity commissioners, usually a professor and a (research) assistant.
