Ho Ho Hackathon @ H-BRS
On 19 and 20 December 2025, a hackathon was held at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, modelled on the IETF hackathons. The participants worked in three project groups on security and network-related issues with a strong practical focus. In addition to the technical implementation, the main focus was on professional exchange.

Studierende diskutieren am Tag der Menschen mit Behinderungen die Zukunft von Inklusion und Sozialversicherung
Anlässlich des Internationalen Tags der Menschen mit Behinderungen haben über 180 Studierende der Hochschule für öffentliche Verwaltung und Finanzen Ludwigsburg (HVF), der Hochschule der Bundesagentur für Arbeit (HdBA) Mannheim und der Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS) in Kooperation mit dem Forum Sozialversicherungswissenschaft am 5. Tag der Teilhabe teilgenommen. Im Zentrum der Veranstaltung vom 3. Dezember stand die Leitfrage: „Inklusion und Teilhabe – Quo vadis Bundesregierung?“

On 18 December 2025, the prizes for the Film Festival 2025 were awarded in Lecture Hall 7. With 25 entries submitted, 31 students from the first to ninth semesters demonstrated their talent - an impressive range of genres and formats.

Celebrating 10 Years MSc "Social Protection“ at H-BRS
Since 2015 our Master Programme „Social Protection“ (M.Sc.) at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg has trained specialists tostrengthen social security systems around the world. Originally, established as the Master „Analysis and Design of Social Protection Systems“, the programme has grown into an internationally recognised hub for education, applied research, and global collaboration in the field of social protection, an area more relevant today than ever.

Amidst an festive Advent atmosphere, eight alumni with international backgrounds shared their experiences with international students at H-BRS on Monday. Their tips covered job applications, starting in the new job, German language, and a mindset that makes living and working in Germany easier.
