The university offers its employees the option to work remotely for up to 50 percent of their contractually agreed total working hours. 

• Part-time option: In consultation with supervisors, employees may reduce and later increase their weekly working hours. This applies in particular to caring for children and family members who require care. Part-time employees may, in consultation with their supervisor, spread their working hours over the weekly working days from Monday to Friday
• Sabbatical: We offer the option of a sabbatical to employees in technical and administrative roles.

Your salary is regulated in salary groups - as are salary increases. Employees regularly move up the experience levels and receive more money.

The remuneration of tariff employees is governed by the collective agreement for employees in the public service of the federal states (TV-L); in the case of civil servants, it is largely regulated by law (North Rhine-Westphalia State Remuneration Act, State Civil Servants' Pension Act, NRW Higher Education Act, Higher Education Performance Pay Ordinance).

For tariff employees and non-civil service staff, supplementary pension insurance is generally automatically established with the Versorgungsanstalt des Bundes und der Länder (VBL); entitlement to benefits arises after a specified waiting period.
