The final year of a PhD requires a significant shift in mindset and working style. Candidates move from open-ended research to focused writing and a clear set of priorities geared towards completion. This shift requires several changes in working style and self-organisation and is often experienced as one of the most challenging phases of the doctoral journey. Self-doubt, perfectionism, and uncertainty about what "done" actually looks like can all contribute to delays and frustration.

This compact  workshop gives doctoral researchers an afternoon of focused time to understand what is happening in this phase, recognise their own patterns within it, and leave with a realistic plan for the months ahead. A follow-up call a few weeks later gives participants the chance to review their progress, name the problems that have come up, and find solutions together.

Target Group
Doctoral researchers who are committed to finishing within the next year. It is particularly suited for those who find it difficult to prioritise their thesis alongside all the other obligations they may have. Participants should be willing to engage actively and be open to self-reflection and personal growth.
