Learning outcomes:
Completing this course will allow students to:
- Understand aspects of protein structure and function, structural changes (misfolding) in the context of diseases, and molecular recognition
- Define the assets and drawbacks of different structural biology techniques as well as the advantage of combining structural biology methods
- Make use of the full extent of the protein database (PDB), and to determine and interpret the quality of the provided structural data

- Plan and apply different crystallization techniques
- Processing structural data and building structural models

- Crystallizing proteins and monitoring crystal growth
- Solving the three-dimensional structure using X-ray crystallography
