The new CHE ranking looked at the Departments of Natural Sciences (AnNa) and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Technical Journalism (EMT) together with their Bachelor's programmes in Applied Biology, Chemistry with Materials Science, Forensic Sciences, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

Overall, students are satisfied with the study conditions at H-BRS. Over and above this, the Department of Natural Sciences is in the top ranking group of universities assessed in terms of studying abroad, laboratories and the range of courses offered. The Department of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Technical Journalism scored well when it came to support for its students, the orientation phase and contact with professional practice with top rankings.

"The outcome of the survey reinforces us as a university and lends credence to our claim to offer a strong practical orientation in our teaching," said Professor Dr. Iris Groß, Vice President for Tuition, Studies and Further Education. With regard to supervision in teaching and examinations, H-BRS is ranked in the middle group of participating universities. The University and District Library achieved a top ranking in the two faculty surveys.

The ZEIT Study Guide and CHE University Rankings answer the most important questions regarding starting to study, help with choosing the right subject and the right location, and provide tips on applying for and financing one's studies. The CHE rankings are the most comprehensive in the German-speaking world with over 300 universities examined.
