Prerequisites
Initial idea of your own research topic/study. Participants should have developed their individual Research Questions (at least the very first version to start with) in order to be able to actively participate in this workshop.
Target Group
PhD students at the beginning of their project. As a professor of business informatics, the speaker will develop the topic from the perspective of his own subject. However, PhDs from related disciplines and other departments are absolutely welcome to join the workshop.

Structure
Day 1:
- The role of literture reviews for your research project
- Rigor vs relevance
- Introduction to literature reviews
- Introducing methodological approaches to systematical literature reviews
- Examples of "good" and "bad" (published) literature reviews
Homework
Prepare a literature review for your own research project! What are (open) research questions? Which theories and methodologies are typically used in your topic? How can you strengthen your reserach design regarding the results of your analysis?
Day 2:
- Presentation of the results of the students' research reviews and their evaluation (and enhancement) of their current research design
