Darleen Kolbe (Research Assistant at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences & independent social protection consultant) will attend this year's Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) Conference in New York, organised by UN Women. She will share insights into the discussions of civil society and government delegations that she was able to gather in side and parallel events, and briefings with the German Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Ms Lisa Paus.

The topic is particularly relevant for anyone interested in gender equality and women's economic empowerment as well as social protection as

  • this year's focus theme is "Accelerating the realisation of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls through poverty reduction and strengthening institutions and financing from a gender perspective", and
  • this year's review theme is "Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls".
